Why It Is Time For A Green Beauty Revolution

Sustainability’ is one of the buzzwords in the beauty industry. Incorporating sustainable and eco-friendly products into your beauty routine is easier than you think. Doctor A Cosmetics is a natural skincare brand with a mission to protect the planet for future generations. We want to turn the spotlight on the green beauty revolution and what steps we are taking to encourage change within the beauty industry.

 Meet Doctor A Cosmetics

Doctor A Cosmetics is a next-generation skincare brand on a mission to change the world. As an eco-friendly, clean skincare brand, our social conscious drives everything we do, from encouraging diversity within the beauty industry to supporting social campaigns through our charity partners. We believe that creating a greener planet is at the heart of this. Our products are vegan, sustainable, eco-friendly, natural and cruelty-free, making them kind to your skin and to the world around us.

Part of our sustainability commitment involves using only ethically sourced ingredients. One ingredient you will not find in our products is palm oil, one of the leading causes of deforestation. It is an ingredient you will find in almost every beauty product in your vanity – from the shampoo you use to your favourite lipstick.

It is responsible for destroying biodiverse forests, killing the habitats of endangered species like the Sumatran rhino. The production of palm oil is also responsible for millions of tonnes of greenhouse gases being produced, fuelling climate change. Palm oil is often extracted by workers who are being exploited in developing countries and by companies using child labour.

 That is just one ingredient.

How we can have a green beauty revolution

We all need to be taking proactive steps to limit our environmental damage and protect our planet. Every little step helps. Just like getting rid of single used plastic, it is all about making small changes that make a big difference.

Why to reduce plastic waste in the beauty industry?

The beauty industry creates 120 billion units of packaging every year. That is an excessive and unnecessary amount. From this, only 9% is recycled, and about 12% incinerated 79% ends up in landfills. Plastic does not decompose meaning that it is still present one way or another. This is why at Doctor A Cosmetics, we are on a mission to help reduce plastic waste and provide eco-friendly skincare.

All of the inner and outer packaging of Doctor A cosmetics is eco-friendly. We have almost zero to minimal plastic and everything is recyclable including our glass contains, our aluminium lids, our recyclable packaging boxes, and shipping boxes.

Vegan, clean formulas, like the ones we use at Doctor A Cosmetics, are becoming more popular. Thanks to social media, everyone is becoming more educated on active ingredients, why natural ingredients are safer for your skin, and their environmental impact. With a vegan formula, it is easier to understand what the product does for your skin.

It is time to ditch chemicals out of our skincare products. At Doctor A Cosmetics, our products are made without any unnecessary chemicals. They are also free of harsh preservatives, artificial colours, no SLS, phthalate free, no parabens, no microbeads and no artificial fragrances. We specially formulate our products so that they work for all skin types and complexions, nourishing and hydrating your skin.

You deserve nothing but the best – for both you and the planet.

If you want to become more sustainable with your beauty choices, look out for the brands that go the extra mile. Stop and read through the product descriptions. Does it read like a chemistry lesson? Look at the ingredients that are used. Are they cruelty-free, non-toxic, clean and vegan? If it ticks all these boxes (like we do!), you are good to go.

Part of our mission at Doctor A Cosmetics is to make sustainable beauty products more accessible and inclusive for all. What do you want to see in your sustainable skincare products? Let us know in the comments below!
